Frequently Asked Questions about Go-Lacta®

What is Go-Lacta®?

Go-Lacta® is an all natural plant-based galactagogue, increases mom’s milk supply. It is truly nature’s gift to breastfeeding mothers which is why it is called Mother’s best friend.

What makes Go-Lacta® different from other products?

Go-Lacta® focuses on mom and baby. It is 100% vegan. It is a plant-based supplement. It does not go through any extraction or artificial process. It is purely natural. Its leaves come from a premium variety of the Malunggay tree where its soil and climate have shown to be rich in nutrients for mom and babies.

Is Go-Lacta safe for me and my baby?

In 1997-98, Alternative Action for African Development (AGADA) and Church World Service found Moringa leaf powder to prevent malnutrition in pregnant or breastfeeding women and their children in southwestern Senegal. This test found the following effects to be common among subjects taking Moringa leaf powder:

  • Children maintained or increased their weight and improved overall health.
  • Pregnant women recovered from anemia and had babies with higher birth weights.
  • Breastfeeding women increased their production of milk.

Are there any side effects?

Moringa leaves have not been found to be toxic. Very extensive health and safety studies conducted at the Noguchi Memorial Medical Research Centre in Ghana determined that Moringa leaf powder has no toxic elements. Absolutely no adverse side effects from even the most concentrated Moringa diet were observed.

Can I take Go-Lacta® after I give birth?

Yes! You can take Go-Lacta® weeks or months after you’ve given birth as long as you are breastfeeding. It is a natural galactagogue so you will notice an increase in your breast milk supply.

How many capsules should I take after giving birth?

It is recommended to take 1 to 3 capsules 2 to 3 times daily after delivery. Dose may be adjusted depending on lactation requirements.

How long should I take Go-Lacta®?

You can take Go-Lacta® as long as you are breastfeeding for continued breast milk supply. Some have taken Go-Lacta® even after they’ve stopped breastfeeding because of the many nutritional benefits of the Malunggay leaves.

What happens if I make too much milk?

If you find yourself becoming painfully engorged, reduce the number of capsules until your supply balances with your baby’s needs.

Would I still produce breast milk once I stop breastfeeding and continue taking Go-Lacta®?

No. Once you wean your baby and stopped breastfeeding, your body will know not to produce milk. However, you may continue taking Go-Lacta® and still get the nutritional benefits.

How will Go-Lacta® affect me and my baby?

Go-Lacta® Premium Malunggay is 100% natural. You and your baby will get the nutritional benefits from dried Malunggay powdered leaves. It is high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Potassium, Iron and Protein.

How long does it take to see a difference in my milk supply?

It varies by individual. For some moms it takes about a day or two, for some it takes 2 weeks.

I’ve breastfed my baby for 3+ months and had really good supply but since I returned to work my milk production went down dramatically and I wonder if your product can still give me a boost to increase my supply.

See the next reply.

I have taken other supplements with no results like lactiful, fenugreek,
blessed thistle, and some chinese ayurvedic herbs. How your product
compares to other products and what percentage of women taking your supplement
actually see an increase in their milk production?

Effectiveness of supplements vary from person to person and no one can really guarantee if
a certain supplement will work.

However, we have a lot of moms that take Go-Lacta® and have been happy with
the results. They used to take fenugreek or prescriptions like domperidone
and have completely switched to Go-Lact®a. We know it works for them because
they give us their feedback and get return orders from the same women. We’ve
been offering Go-Lacta® since 2007 and there are moms that come back having
their 2nd or 3rd baby.

I just started taking GoLacta but just read that some galactagogues from Asia have been found to be high in heavy metals. Do you test your product for heavy metals?

Yes, definitely. Our product goes through a very strict production and testing process. We are very careful and watch every step of the process from planting, harvesting, etc. and we do a number of laboratory tests, including toxicity, salmonella, e.coli, etc. and more.

Is Go-Lacta® tax-deductible?

Yes, announcement 2011-14 says that breast pumps and supplies that assist lactation may be deducted as medical expenses. Here is the announcement:

The Internal Revenue Service has concluded that breast pumps and supplies that assist lactation are medical care under § 213(d) of the Internal Revenue Code because, like obstetric care, they are for the purpose of affecting a structure or function of the body of the lactating woman. Therefore, if the remaining requirements of § 213(a) are met (for example, the taxpayer’s total medical expenses exceed 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income), expenses paid for breast pumps and supplies that assist lactation are deductible medical expenses. Amounts reimbursed for these expenses under flexible spending arrangements, Archer medical savings accounts, health reimbursement arrangements, or health savings accounts are not income to the taxpayer.
